Leaving 137 Bencich Lane

Well here we go on a new adventure!
We made the decision when we got back from Mesa AZ this April to sell the house & move into the Motor Home full time.  We are gonna be Gypsies!
(Or homeless people. Just depends on how you look at it.)

So we started  packing & sprucing it up....
I think the plants & flowers knew they were on display.
They looked better than ever!

We were on
the market by June 1.
By the end of the week we had a full offer and a back up offer. So then it was time to really get moving.  We cleaned out the house
and packed the rest of what we wanted to keep.
We went from this......

To this...

I have to admit going from this...
to this in my closet was not easy.
(I'm gonna miss my closet most of all!)   Most of my clothes went to a yard sale & Goodwill. :(
And the only signs of Donald left in his garage and shop...
are his stickers on the cabinets.

Kinda sad.  :(
We sold the majority of our furniture on Craigslist.  And what we decided to keep, Donald, my brother Tim, Jimmy and Nick Bassmann, & Bill Goodson (Donald's buddies) loaded up a 26ft. Uhaul.
We headed for Mesa and unloaded the Uhaul into a storage unit with the help of Scott.  It was only 114 that day!  Whew!  HOT!
Got it all into a 10x20.
Donald looks like he's about ready to pass out!  I know I was.

It has been a busy month but the sale is now waiting to close escrow (hopefully).   So we decided to have a little 4th of July and Good Bye Party for 137 Bencich Lane.
I told everyone to bring a chair because I only had a the patio room furniture left since the buyers of the house wanted to buy it too.

Looks pretty much like a party at the POINT.

This hat was from Viet Nam has been in our garage all these years.  Bill decided his wife Liz (my BFF from highschool)  should have it.  Nice!
And the they got Donald this hat that says "Number 1 Driver" to wear while he Chauffeurs me down the road in the MH.  I think Bill was reminiscing about the girls calling him #1 GI.  Maybe?
While Liz makes the peace sign Donald makes the Watson sign.  "W"
You dont' see Donald at the BBQ too often but since Bob got up to help me he did too.  Thank you Bob!

It was a pretty nice farewell!

I think it was harder on Donald seeing Enrique Hernandez Gonzalez driving away in his truck than leaving our house.  :-)
Even our resident Red Tailed Hawk came down to say good-bye!

So on Monday July 6th...
we said good bye to "137" for the last time.
I love my house & I'm gonna miss it.  It's a strange feeling knowing you can't go home again after 35 years in the same place.
I hope our new adventures will give us lots of new memories to love!
